December brings us the season of Advent when we prepare for the coming of the Christ Child.  Advent, a time of hopeful anticipation, gives us opportunities to find quiet moments during the busy times of the holiday season.  Be sure to visit the parish website about this month's activities.

Boy Scout Troop 219 is selling fresh Christmas trees! Come and find your tree beginning Saturday, November 28th; Monday-Friday 5:30pm-8:00pm; Saturday and Sunday 9am-8pm.

Giving Tuesday - Opportunities to support St. Raphael School

GIVING TUESDAY - From now until December 1st the School is hoping to raise $50,000, about $290 per student.  The iGiveCatholic! link will only be live on December 1st, here is the link.   Until November 30th the School can accept cash and check donations, please make checks payable to St. Raphael Catholic School and write Giving Tuesday in the memo line.


Home and School Raffle - Up to 1000 tickets will be sold with daily drawings beginning November 30th through December 18th.  $100 winners will be drawn Nov. 30th through Dec. 3rd.  $250 winners will be drawn on Dec. 4th and 11th.  The $500 winner will be drawn on Dec. 18th.  Here is the link to buy tickets on line.

The St. Vincent de Paul Giving Tree is located in the Narthex of the Church.  Please take an ornament from the tree to support this ministry that helps meet the needs of families in our community.  Wrapped gifts are to be returned with ornament attached by Sunday, December 20th.  Please see the bulletin for more details. For gift certiļ¬cates or checks, please drop them into the St. Vincent de Paul box next to the Christmas Giving Tree.


Opportunities for Reconciliation during Advent.

Beginning Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 6pm

Extended hours for confession will be available during Advent in the church confessionals, beginning December 5th. Times are Saturdays from 3:30pm to 4:30pm, and Sundays following the 8:00am and 9:30am Masses and before the 11:30am Mass. Courtyard confessions will also be available on Wednesdays from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Confessions are always available by appointment (727-821-7989).


Tuesday, December 8th is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, is a Holy Day.  Masses will be on Monday Evening at 7:00pm and on Tuesday at 8:00am, (School Mass) and at 7:00pm.   It is a solemnity of the Church and Mary is the patroness of the United States.  All the faithful are encouraged to attend Mass on this day in honor of the Blessed Virigin Mary. 


1st Annual Smack Bayou Christmas Boat Parade

December 19th 2020 6pm

St. Raphael Parish is hosting a neighborhood event.

Come and be our guest!


The Parish Field will be open beginning at 5:30pm (following the 4:30pm Mass) to view this 1st time event sailing right past our sea wall.  We'll have entertainment, food trucks, and plenty of outside COVID safe fellowship as we watch this inaugural event.  If you have never seen a boat parade, this is your chance!  Don't forget your blankets and lawn chairs.

Christmas Mass Schedule

Tickets are required for all Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Masses for seating in the church.  Tickets will be available in the Parish Office beginning Wed, December 9th 2020.  Each ticket will admit up to four people.

The Christmas Eve 4:00pm & 6:00pm Masses and Christmas Day 9:30am & 11:30am Masses will be broadcast live to the parish field on a 12’ x 22’ LED screen. Communion will be offered on the field for these Masses. Please bring your blankets or lawn chairs.  The 11:00pm Mass of Night will be live streamed.

 School Dismisses on Friday, December 18th at noon and classes resume on Monday, January, 6th 2021.


Parish Office Hours

The Parish Office will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The Office will be open until 1pm Monday, December 28th through Thursday, December 31st and closed Friday January 1st, 2021.
