Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, Archangels

September 29th

Today, Tuesday, September 29th is the feast day of the Archangels, Saints Michael, Gabriel and Raphael.  Let us pray to St. Raphael our patron saint, "Blessed Saint Raphael, Archangel, We beseech you to help us in all our needs and trials of this life, as you, through the power of God, didst restore sight and gave guidance to young Tobit.  We humbly seek your aid and intercession, that our souls may be healed, our bodies protected from all ills, and that through divine grace we may become fit to dwell in the eternal Glory of God in heaven.  Amen."

Annual Fall Festival

As we all continue to work through the COVID 19 challenges, one of the main events we have been discussing for the last two months is the annual Fall Festival.  The Festival, which commonly takes place the 2nd weekend of November, is a major parish community event that everyone loves and it serves as a key fund raiser for Home and School to help financially support the School.  Over the last 4 years, the festival has generated an average of $48,985 in profit.  Unfortunately, we must cancel this event for 2020.  After many meetings to discuss alternatives to our traditional festival, we can’t, in good conscience, expose our families and children to the ongoing health risks. With the cooperation of our families, we have successfully navigated our way back to school and many families are not comfortable opening themselves up to additional risks.  I want to thank the parish and school staff, Michelle Kline who chairs the Festival, the Home and School Board, as well as, the School Advisory Committee for their assistance in making this decision.  We are all in this together.  Our hope is that in the new year we will find alternative fund-raising events (we are working through some ideas now) to help cover the financial shortfall from canceling the Festival.  I ask that you continue to keep the school children and their families in your prayers.
