Special Event

Tuesday, September 4th at 7pm

Mr. Joseph DiVito, our Diocesan Attorney, will be offering a presentation entitled "What our Church Has Done to Safeguard Children" on Tuesday, September 4th at 7pm in the Parish Center.  This evening is intended to help inform our parents and adult parish members about the Diocese of St. Petersburg's protocols. 


 

KOC  Pancake Breakfast

Sunday, September 2nd

The Knights of Columbus will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast following the 8am and 9:30am Masses on Sunday, September 2nd in the Parish Center.  Begin September right, take the morning off from cooking and join the Knights for fellowship and a tasty breakfast.


Sunday Faith Formation

FIRST DAY - Sunday September 9th

 

Sunday Faith Formation Classes begin promptly at 10:45am on Sunday, September 9th.  If you have yet to register you may  Register here.  Please contact Lynn Edmonds in the  Faith Formation Office for further information or assistance.  We look forward to the Sunday Faith Formation program, helping our young children become better aware of their relationship with Jesus.

6th and 7th grade parents have a meeting during the first class on September 9th at 10:45am in the 6th grade classroom.  

There is a Teach-at-Home parent meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 11th in the St. Joseph Room.  Grades K-7th: 7pm-7:30pm; 8th grade: 7:30pm-8pm

Sunday Faith Formation Teacher Assistants are still needed for all grades.  Contact Lynn, ledmonds@st-raphaels.com 


First Reconciliation and First Communion

The First Reconciliation and First Communion class takes place on Tuesday, September 4th or  Monday, September 10th from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.  If you have yet to register please contact our Faith Formation Office at 727-821-7989 or ledmonds@st-raphaels.com.

If you have a child who has not been baptized, or is in Grade 3 and up, and has not made their First Communion, please contact the Faith Formation Office so we can assist you in bringing your children to the sacraments.


Father Daughter Dance

"I Love You to the Moon and Back"

Friday, September 14th 6:30pm - 9:30pm

 

All school age girls of St. Raphael's Catholic School and parish are invited to bring dad, grandfather, or other father figure to enjoy a night under the stars filled with fun, music, dancing and games.  Photographers will be on hand!  Cost is $40 per couple or $50 for two or more daughters.  Contact Katherine Zehr at 602-741-7847, kzehr727@gmail.com for more information.                             


Faith Community Nursing

Blood Pressure Screening Returns - September 15th & 16th 

 

St. Raphael Faith Community Nursing will be offering Blood Pressure Screenings on the 3rd weekend of the month in the Parish Hall following all Masses, except Sunday at 5:30pm. 


Altar Server Training

Sunday, September 16th or Monday, September 17th

 

Altar Server training will take place on Sunday, September 16th, from 1pm to 2:30pm or on Monday, September 17th, from 6 to 7pm.

All servers through 7th grade are expected to attend two trainings per year.  Those in 3rd grade and who have received 1st Communion are welcome to join us.  Please contact Mr. Mark Early at 688-8266 or St-Raphael-Altar-Server @outlook.com for questions or more information.


Bible Study Returns

 

The Wednesday Morning Bible Study begins September 5th with "Fulfilled" by Sonya Corbit.  The program runs from 9:15am until 10:45am.  To register or for more information, please contact Marybeth Finster at mbfinster@tampabay.rr.com.   

The Wednesday Evening Bible Study will begin September 19th with "Lectio-Eucharist".  The sessions begin after the 7pm Mass (7:30pm) and run until about 9:00pm.  For more information or to register, please contact Tara Kipp at skipp1@tampabay.rr.com.


Faith Circles Resume

 

Faith Circles begin again.  At least six weekly Faith Circles will be meeting at different locations and times with discussions on various topics including Consoling the Heart of Jesus, Decision Point, Lectio-Eucharist, Mystery of God, and St. Teresa of Avila. Watch the bulletin or our website for specific details on how to sign up.


Youth Ministry 

 

High School & Middle School Ministries have begun.  Teens are welcome to join our nights and to invite friends!

  • High School youth gather for 5:30pm Mass on Sundays, followed by dinner in the Parish Center, and the night's topic in the youth room.
  • Middle School youth come together on Mondays, from 6:30pm-8pm in the Parish Center.  We have fun while building our faith.

KOC Italian Family "Knight"

40 Days for Life

September 26th through November 4th

 

St Raphael Parish Respect Life Committee will once again participate in the 40 Days for Life Campaign.  Our dates to pray outside the All Women's Health Center are October 9th and October 13th.  This is an opportunity to support the dignity of human life beginning with conception.  The recent incidents raised in the media make this an opportune time for us to act and speak out as Christians.  Sign-up will take place in the Narthex the weekends of Sept 23/23 and September 29/30, or contact Mary Stoft, 422-4001 to sign up.


Parish Blood Drive
