In addition to the Steubenville Youth Conference in July, we’ll meet up for fun times at the beach, Tampa Bay Rays games, Praise & Worship, Bible studies, and the Tampa Bay Cruise! LIFETEEN (grades 9-12) and EDGE (grades 6-8) nights will kick off in August.  Below are some of our "annual" youth ministry activities....come join us!

Activity Description:

  • Rock the Universe!!!:
On September 11, 2010, we’re heading to Orlando! The high school teens (grades 9-12) will attend Rock the Universe at Universal Studios on Saturday. This annual event is a lively, energetic Christian music festival that takes place amidst one of the world’s most popular theme parks. You do not want to miss out on the fun, music, and wild, exciting rides! This year, Rock the Universe features Christian music favorites TobyMac, Relient K, Jeremy Camp, and many more. Please download and fill out the permission request slip online at http://www.st-raphaels.com/youth-ministry.html. Cost will be $50.00 per person (plus money for food). Please write out a check to St. Raphael’s Church in the amount of $50.00 by the deadline on Monday, August 17. Hope to see you all there!

  • March for Life in Washington, DC:
Join us as we stand up for the beautiful gift of life that we have received from our Creator. There is a spiritual war raging; and we have the awesome opportunity – and the important responsibility – to fight for Love, Truth, and Life! In January, marking the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we will travel to Washington, DC for a weekend of marching, sightseeing, prayer, and great times in our nation’s capital. Stay tuned for more detailed scheduling info in the upcoming months…

  • Steubenville Conference:
All students in 9th – 12th grade are invited to the event of the summer: an epic journey to Steubenville, OH for the Summer Youth Conferences. Through a series of dynamic talks, lively, uplifting, energetic praise & worship, Eucharistic Adoration, and fun, friendship, and adventure, we will encounter the Risen Lord face to face. Come join 40,000 high school aged youth as they draw closer to this Person, Jesus of Nazareth, who not only has love, truth, and happiness, but is Love, is Truth, in whom is the fullness of happiness, peace, and joy.

  • LifeTeen Summer Camps:
Covecrest: Located in the midst of a beautiful national forest in the Northeast Georgia Mountains, LifeTeen Covecrest offers a great place for youth groups to hang out, have fun, meet teens from all over the country, and deepen their relationship with God. At Covecrest, teens have an awesome opportunity for prayer and reflection (1) in the Chapel, (2) in the outdoor Stations of the Cross, (3) on the bank next to the waterfalls, (4) or on the deck overlooking the lake with the mountains in the background. Covecrest also offers high and low ropes challenge courses, a two-sided climbing wall, a zip line, a giant rope swing, basketball and sand volleyball courts, hiking trails and playing fields. LifeTeen Covecrest hosts summer camps throughout June and July.

  • Homeless Retreat:
While leading Works of Mercy – Homeless Ministry Pittsburgh – at Franciscan University, our mission was this: “We bring food and clothes to the homeless, however, this stuff is secondary. Primarily, we bring the homeless our love, friendship, prayer, and…ultimately…Christ! We hang out with our homeless friends, get to know them, listen to them, pray with them, sing with them, and joke around with them.” This is the aim of our homeless retreat as well. We enter into the life of the homeless person and reach out to him/her in love. Powerful things happen when we let Christ use us as instruments of His peace! We pray that our homeless friends see the face of Christ in us; and that we encounter the Risen Lord in them as well.

  • Plus much more!
Join us for more “eyes on the prize” activities as we hang out, have a blast, and help lead each other closer to Christ. We plan on gathering for Tampa Bay Rays games, fun times at the beach, Praise & Worship, Bible studies, and the Tampa Bay Cruise. Stay tuned for announcements at Mass, in the bulletin, and on the website (http://www.st-raphaels.com/youth-ministry.html) for more events, retreats, and activities. Hope to see you soon!
