ADULT BIBLE STUDY
Bible Study meets on Wednesday mornings at 9:15 AM during the
school year. We cover a variety of Bible topics each
year. The class learns about Scripture to deepen our
Catholic faith through study, teaching, and group discussion.

St. Raphael Messenger is a blog highlighting the numerous ministries in St.
Raphael Catholic Church in St. Petersburg, Florida, through personal stories of
parishioners doing God's work. The

features ministries from seven areas: Faith Formation, Youth Ministries,
Community Life & Outreach, Liturgy & Spiritual Life, Parish Life, Temporal
Affairs and School Ministries. Articles may be submitted by anyone participating
in a St. Raphael ministry.
CHRIST RENEWS HIS PARISH (CRHP)
Christ Renews His Parish, with separate ministries for men and
women parishioners, is a weekend Spiritual Renewal experience in
which attendees are invited to come closer to the Lord. After the
weekend, attendees are invited to become involved in the team for
the next renewal weekend and participate in the Team Formation
Program. These ministries provide a vital opportunity to become a
participant in the life of the parish and are held in spring and
fall.
COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN/ GUILD - CCW (CCW

The St. Raphael's CCW promotes the spiritual welfare of the
women at St. Raphael's Parish and cooperates with the National,
Diocesan and Deanery Councils of Catholic Women in carrying out
the works entrusted to them by the Bishop of St. Petersburg.
It cooperates and works with the Pastor to promote the welfare of
the Parish and contributes to the financial obligations of the
Parish and the St. Raphael's Catholic School. Please visit

CURSILLO
Cursillo is an adult weekend experience of Christian Community,
which is intended to strengthen and deepen one's faith and
commitment to Christ. this three-day program is a short course
in Christianity. Ultreya meetings are held monthly at St.
Jude's.
HANDICAPPED MINISTRY
Members offer needed services and companionship to those in need
within our parish community. The Ministry keeps the parish
aware of the unique ministerial requirements of parishioners with
handicaps. members can also become involved in Diocesan
programs to help and minister to the handicapped.
HOSPITALITY
COFFEE/DONUTS
SOCIAL
Coffee, juice and donuts are available at a nominal fee to
provide parishioners with an opportunity to socialize following
the celebration of Mass. Available following both the 9:30
AM and 11:30 AM Sunday Masses.
GREETERS
Greeters welcome parishioners and others to the
Mass by meeting them as they enter the Church and assisting them
in seating. They also distribute bulletins at the end of the
Mass. Participants in this ministry underscore the caring of our
parish family.
RECEPTION COMMITTEE
Volunteers assist in setting up for dinners or other celebrations as
needed by the Church. Activities include setting up and
decorating tables as well as the Parish Center.
WELCOMING COMMITTEE
Members of the Welcoming Committee telephone, meet and greet new
families in our Parish. We give each new member a gift bag.
In addition to providing information
on our Mass schedule, ministries and parish school, the
ministry hosts welcoming gatherings on a regular basis.
INACTIVE CATHOLICS
The inactive Catholics Ministry involves outreach programs for
alienated, marginal, unchurched and otherwise inactive members of
our faith. This ministry requires substantial prayer support.
Home visits can be made to help people who are confused or seeking
more answers.
LIGHTHOUSE CATHOLIC
MEDIA CD MINISTRY
These audio CDs are by well known Catholic speakers like Archbishop
Fulton Sheen, Mother Teresa, Dr. Scott & Kimberly Hahn, Steve Ray,
Jeff Cavins and Matthew Kelly. They cover all topics of Catholic
Life; the sacraments, conversion stories, lives of the saints and
more! They provide a self study program for people interested in
learning more about the Catholic Church and are used in
evangelization when you share them with friends and family. CDs are
available in the narthex of the new church. We ask for a $3 donation
per CD, deposited into the kiosk display stand that holds the CDs.

PARISH COUNCIL
St. Raphael's Parish Council is an apostolic
vehicle through which a representative body of parishioners, in
communication with one another and their pastor meet as a
consultative body to make recommendations to the pastor regarding
the life of the Parish and its ministries.
Membership is by election for a term of three years or by appointment for a term of
one year. Parish council members are asked to chair or participate on
one of the Parish Council Commissions. Parish ministry
coordinators and parish members-at-large also serve on Parish
Council Commissions. The Parish Council meets quarterly.
PRAYER GROUPS
St. Raphael’s Parish has several small prayer
group ministries. The purpose of them all is to read scripture, to
pray and share their _ experiences in Christian growth. Those
interested in participating can call the church office for more
details.
PRAYER REQUEST MINISTRY
The Prayer Request Ministry offers prayers for
anyone needing or wanting special prayers in time of sickness,
emergencies or special needs. Prayer lists are phoned to members
weekly and members pray. for these special needs.
RESPECT LIFE
The goal of the Respect Life Ministry is the promotion of human
life at all of its stages. Through education and prayer, its
members strive to make other parishioners aware of what they can
do for the unborn, the handicapped and the aged. The
ministry provides information on legislative proposals and
promotes communication with appropriate local, state and federal
officials. Support is given to organizations which promote
human life including Birthright, Right to Life and Respect Life.
ROSARY MAKERS
Members of the Tuesday Social Club perform this
activity at their meetings , but rosary making may also be done at
your home. You will be given supplies and trained to make
rosaries for a variety of people including parishioners and the
Missions.
SAINTS (STILL ALIVE IN THE SPIRIT)
The Still Alive in The Spirit Ministry provides a source of
continued spiritual growth for women who have completed the Christ
Renews His Parish Ministry.
TEAMS OF OUR LADY
Teams of Our Lady is a married couples' Catholic Christian community
consisting of five to seven couples and a Priest, Deacon or Sister
in a small group format. The team meets monthly alternating at
members' homes of dinner, prayer, discussion of reading material and
faith sharing. Teams are designed for the couple to grow
together in Jesus' love, bond with and support team members, and
support the movement internationally.
TOTUS TUUS
This is a Rosary and Healing Ministry that meets every Tuesday and
Thursday at 9PM in the Church. Experience the real power and
wonder of the prayer of the Rosary in community followed by
individual prayers, as requested, for spiritual, emotional, and
physical healing.
TUESDAY SOCIAL
This ministry is a social and service
group that makes rosaries and crafts, plays games and does service projects to
benefit hospitals and other worthy causes. All age and skill
levels are welcome.
VOCATIONS COMMITTEE
The Vocations Committee provides a Parish Vocations Enrichment
Team. Its goal is to make parishioners aware of vocations as a
desirable choice in life and to support our seminarians.
